Combining Treatments: What Works Together and What Does Not

Sequencing treatments sensibly

We offer a range of treatments, and patients often ask which ones work well together. The honest answer is that some combinations make sense because they address different mechanisms, and some are simply more spending without more benefit.

Here is how we think about it, including where the reasoning is sound and where it is more speculative.

Weight loss and body contouring

GLP-1 therapy, then body contouring

Sequence matters here. GLP-1 therapy addresses overall weight. Body contouring treatments such as Emsculpt or Lipo Light address localized areas and muscle definition, and they work better once weight has stabilized — treating an area that is still changing wastes sessions.

The reasoning is straightforward: these address different things. Weight loss reduces fat throughout the body. Contouring addresses specific areas that remain. Neither substitutes for the other, and contouring is not a weight loss treatment.

Skin rejuvenation

PRP micro-needling, Laser Genesis, and IPL

These address genuinely different concerns. Micro-needling with PRP works on texture and scarring through collagen remodeling. Laser Genesis addresses redness and pore appearance. IPL targets pigmentation and sun damage.

Because the mechanisms differ, combining them is reasonable for patients with multiple concerns. They should be spaced appropriately rather than stacked — your provider will set the interval based on your skin and the treatments involved.

AquaGold provides hydration and an immediate surface effect, which is why patients often book it before an event rather than as part of a long-term plan.

Skin tightening and resurfacing

ThermiSmooth with IPL or a chemical peel

Radiofrequency addresses laxity in deeper layers. IPL and peels address surface pigmentation and texture. Different depths, different targets, so the combination is coherent.

These need spacing between them. Sequencing is a clinical decision, not something to self-schedule.

Hormone evaluation

If fatigue, low mood, or changes in body composition are your concern, hormone evaluation is where to start rather than adding supplements to an unexamined picture. Thyroid dysfunction, anemia, sleep apnea, and hormone deficiency are identifiable and treatable, and finding one of those is more useful than treating around it.

We are often asked about adding NAD+ or glutathione to a hormone program. The evidence for both in this context is limited, and we would rather say so than sell an add-on. If you are interested in either, we are happy to discuss what is and is not established.

Hair and scalp

Hair loss has multiple causes, and treatment depends on which one applies. Androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium after weight loss or illness, thyroid disease, and iron deficiency all present differently and respond to different things.

Topical and nutritional approaches can support scalp health. We would not present peptide therapy as a treatment for hair loss — the evidence for that use is not there. Evaluation first, then a plan based on the cause.

Building a plan

The useful version of this conversation is not a package. It is working out what is actually bothering you, in what order it makes sense to address it, and what fits your budget. Some patients need one treatment rather than four.
